Cat out of the Bag 2.x

(Content warning: This chapter contains graphic descriptions of trench warfare. Normally I leave warnings like this to the podcast description and front page of the website, but this chapter is significantly more intense than any previous ones. If a setting on the front lines of a war may cause you distress, please make sure you take proper care of yourself or perhaps choose not to listen. Skipping this chapter will not prevent you from following the story of Twig.)

As your holiday gift, dear listeners, I present to you the end of Arc 2. Our good friend Loren Sherman returns once again as the voice of Reverend Mauer – do you suppose his first name is actually Reverend? – in a gripping flashback. What happened on the fateful day set this man on his holy crusade against the Academy? Who is Mauer’s comrade with the vaguely Southern accent? Why did Mauer have a shiny thing in his mouth in 2.11? The answers to these questions and more lie within this chapter.

My goodness, Sy has quite a thing for Reverend Mauer – and for Cecil as well, after a fashion. Let’s see how the Lambs set up their chessboard.

Cat out of the Bag 2.5

In which it is revealed that Hayle is actually unusually reasonable for a black coat professor, at least from Sy’s point of view. It’s really incredible how good our Sly is at getting himself into trouble, isn’t it? Poor Gordon. It really does keep getting worse.

Ready to hear me do some more voices? Maybe attempt an accent? I didn’t realize until rereading this very chapter that this series is set in the Crown States of America. Keep an ear out for some more easy-to-miss tidbits about the world of Twig in this installment of the Lambs’ adventures – plus the long-awaited introduction of one of my favorite characters in the whole serial, Reverend Mauer. Wow, I am on a roll here. High five, me! *high five* Time for some tea to soothe my poor voice after reading so much Walter. (Listen to the chapter and you’ll see why.)
